In 1998, I lost my job unexpectedly—and at a very inconvenient time in my life. (Not that there’s ever a convenient time … yet still.) I was devastated and didn’t know what would happen next.

Today, I can proudly say I’ve created a dream career path based on my natural talents and abilities while helping clients ‘round the world.

At a young age, I started freelancing out of necessity while in between jobs.

Job offers came in, yet they weren’t a good fit. Like many often do, I played the freelance-part-time and job-search-part-time game for a while.

My time, energy, and focus were all split … and weren’t doing me any favors.

However, once I made the decision to go ALL IN on my own business, it was a total game changer.

Now, more than 25 years later, I can say that, not only have I worked with countless copywriting clients, yet also:

⭐ Founded & continue to help lead The Freelance Exchange

⭐ Created a college-level Freelancing 101 course & taught as an adjunct professor at the KC Art Institute

⭐ Began coaching to help my fellow creative freelancers

⭐ Became a public speaker and have appeared on stages near and far

None of the above was in the plans … at all. Yet, here I am loving every minute of it.

Today, I help companies and solopreneurs alike find their own joy and success while elevating their brands, embracing their badassery and, thus, improving their businesses.
